No, none of that. OK. 00:00:15

Any public comments? 00:00:21
None of that. 00:00:24
OK. 00:00:25
All right. First item of business. 00:00:26
Logo design options. 00:00:29
Bike Utah will be providing a logo design for the ATC as a donation. 00:00:31
I'm assuming you want me to show that. 00:00:46
Logo, OK. 00:00:48
OK, I don't have much to say. 00:01:26
Of event. 00:01:29
Well, I mean, I guess you guys could say you hate it. 00:01:31
Let's zoom in on the. 00:01:45
Oh my gosh. 00:01:47
Is there any way for me to be able to see it? I don't have any video. 00:01:51
Yeah. 00:01:56
It sounds like we're working on it. 00:02:00
Take a picture of it. 00:02:08
Perfect. 00:02:10
Very high tech, I love it. 00:02:14
So yeah, it uses your city colors and it has the little logo. 00:02:16
Of the parent and child. 00:02:21
That we'll also be using throughout the wayfinding. 00:02:24
System so. 00:02:27
I think it incorporates all the feedback that we gave. 00:02:32
A month. A couple months ago, yes. 00:02:35
Oh it looks fantastic. What? What are your thoughts? 00:02:40
Yeah, that's good. 00:02:44
Yeah, I like the. 00:02:51
The pairing with the vineyard. 00:02:54
Logo. 00:02:57
Be curious if Marty has any thoughts. 00:03:02
Cameron, anything. Or if Marty has seen it yet. 00:03:06
I think it looks great. 00:03:10
It's it's awesome. 00:03:12
My opinion doesn't really matter. 00:03:15
Oh, I like that. 00:03:18
Yeah, cool. Do we think that? 00:03:22
Do you think that we would? 00:03:25
Display it like with the words around it all the time. 00:03:26
Or could. 00:03:30
We just potentially use the icon. 00:03:31
Yeah, you could just follow your heart. 00:03:33
We can give it to you with the words and with that. 00:03:37
Thank you. 00:03:42
Would it be possible to implement like a golf cart and do it golf cart version? I'll see what I can do. 00:03:44
That'd be great. 00:03:50
Well, thank you. 00:03:53
Thank you by Qutub for the donation. 00:03:56
Really appreciate it. 00:03:58
Can't wait to get it going. Do we have a timeline when these? 00:04:01
Would get printed. 00:04:06
In what ways would you want to see them on the way Finder, like on signage? 00:04:10
That would be something for our public works. 00:04:17
I'll be showing the final stuff I think. 00:04:21
Yeah, you can go for it. Nothing. 00:04:24
Can you repeat the question one more time? 00:04:28
Just if there's a timeline as to when these would be printed onto the way finders and. 00:04:30
Potentially other signs. So the next steps on something like this after the design is approved is kind of determining developing a 00:04:36
map of where. 00:04:40
Where you where those signs would be placed throughout the city. 00:04:44
And so forth. And then the public's team was determined. 00:04:47
One, if there is already signage in that area, I mean so. 00:04:51
For example if it's just moved like 5 feet and then to place on a proper side to place on on on top of another signage certain 00:04:55
size, certain signage St. signages can't have multiple signs on there as well. 00:05:01
And then to. 00:05:07
Determine what the cost, what the costs. 00:05:09
Would be associated to print out and install them. 00:05:12
And then of course, the funding mechanism on that. So City Council would be the the. 00:05:16
We're coming up to the city, we're coming up to a budget. 00:05:22
We're coming by speaker on. 00:05:26
Probably budget proposal season. 00:05:29
Hello, hello, hello. 00:05:32
Oh, OK. Thanks. 00:05:36
Appreciate that. So and then of course during the budget, during our upcoming budget, the City Council would approve the budget to 00:05:37
include. 00:05:40
They include the purchasing, the fabrications of the and installation of those signs throughout the city. 00:05:44
So I guess so the next step would just be to identify the actual locations for. 00:05:50
Where those way find out where those where they would be placed. So that's going to be part of the wayfinding plan we've. 00:05:56
We created a pretty extensive map. 00:06:01
That. 00:06:06
Incorporates the wayfinding on all of your multi use paths. 00:06:07
And just to. 00:06:12
Sorry, Chair, just to add to. 00:06:13
Just to clarify a few things, the logo is not meant to be printed all over the city. This is just meant for the use of the ATC. 00:06:16
We officially have changed our name. 00:06:24
We have, you know, bylaws and ways to move and everything. So this just officiates things. So we could have even a letterhead. 00:06:26
For you guys, if you want to send out a letter coming from ATC, it's not only going to show Vineyard, it's going to show. It's 00:06:35
just officiating everything that ATC is doing. 00:06:40
So this is not going to be printed out. 00:06:45
And, you know, place it everywhere else. 00:06:47
However, some of these designs show up. 00:06:50
Find in signs that. 00:06:53
Bike Utah is working on. 00:06:55
So it just will connect through and just. 00:06:58
Make you more visible in the city and beyond. So that's the use of the logo. 00:07:01
Something that we discussed. 00:07:07
Several months ago. 00:07:09
Was putting up signs that were somewhere along the lines of like share the road. 00:07:12
So that drivers are aware or more made more aware of. 00:07:18
Everybody else who is out on the road as well. 00:07:24
And so. 00:07:28
Chris, I wondered if. 00:07:29
From your perspective with the wayfinding. 00:07:31
Would something like this be a queue for those drivers or would we need to have? 00:07:34
Kind of a designated actual. 00:07:42
Written out Share the road. 00:07:45
Type of signage out. 00:07:48
In front of. 00:07:50
People's eyes. 00:07:52
Driver size. 00:07:53
The MUTCD. So that's like the manual for traffic control devices like signage. 00:07:56
Does have a sign that they recommend? 00:08:02
Like bicyclists may use full lane. 00:08:06
Something along those lines, yeah. 00:08:10
And I think that one's pretty effective. 00:08:12
I wonder if this is something that we could bring to the Council as well as we're presenting this wayfinding and like printing out 00:08:14
those signs, if we could kind of. 00:08:19
Tag this on top of that. 00:08:25
Yeah. So that would be, that would be something in addition that you could. 00:08:27
Place on the map further on the active transportation map to show the areas that. 00:08:32
Those signages with. 00:08:37
Those awareness science would be. 00:08:40
Requested on that SO again. 00:08:42
This excuse me? 00:08:47
Our Street Stuff fund does have some funds for signages, but it's not intended to put up brand new signs above and beyond. Like 00:08:49
kind of normal. 00:08:54
But then again. 00:09:01
We would what we would just do something like that is we would just price out what the size would be. 00:09:03
And like based on the cost, obviously there's a value of purchasing more. 00:09:09
Right. Just as we're considering the budget for next and then we would just place that into our work schedule when we're doing our 00:09:12
normal signage maintenance and so forth. So that'd be awesome. 00:09:18
OK. 00:09:25
All right, anything else with the logo design? 00:09:28
Item. 00:09:33
OK, we'll move on to Bike Month activities. 00:09:36
Would have to We have to vote to accept it. 00:09:40
Oh, OK. 00:09:43
OK, so you have to make a motion and vote. 00:09:44
OK. 00:09:50
Most shouldn't or I'm. Oh, I moved to. 00:09:52
Dot dot dot you'd have to ask if someone wants to make a motion. I'll make a motion that we adopt this. 00:09:56
As our. 00:10:04
Official logo. Official logo. 00:10:05
Cameron. 00:10:09
I second that. 00:10:11
On the record. 00:10:14
All right. Thank you. 00:10:17
OK, next item of business, the bike month activities. 00:10:20
Is that Anna Ske? 00:10:26
Yay. 00:10:29
Hi, guys. Hello. 00:10:36
OK. So I just wanted to give you guys a little bit. 00:11:14
Officially started. 00:11:22
So we have kicked off by bike month. Originally was supposed to be with the bike rodeo but it got rained out and so we moved it to 00:11:24
the 12th which was on Monday and I wasn't able to attend but. 00:11:30
Looking at pictures and talking to Zoe, our Parks and Rec. 00:11:36
Assistant, she said. 00:11:39
It was a great turn out. It was her first year so I don't know. 00:11:40
She doesn't have anything to compare it to. 00:11:43
But I thought it was a good turn out. 00:11:46
Yeah. 00:11:48
Based on pictures I should say. 00:11:49
We tried unsuccessfully to get a bike tune up station there. We I know. 00:11:52
I think a total of three people. We tried reaching. I reached out to one personally, but. 00:11:58
I think that it was like just a rough time trying to get people in it. I did have someone that. 00:12:05
I don't know what business they're with, but they are looking at. 00:12:11
Updating the pump track. 00:12:15
And they were really, actually really interested in sponsoring something for Bike Month, but I couldn't, we couldn't like make a 00:12:17
final decision in time. So I think next year, hopefully, especially while they're rolling out everything, we can get them more 00:12:23
involved and they would be willing to do a bike tune up station, which would be cool. That's exciting. 00:12:28
And then we have Bike to Work Day on Friday at 730 AM Utah City is sponsoring a free breakfast and it will be right outside of the 00:12:35
Front Runner station. 00:12:39
It's. I have a. 00:12:44
Actually. 00:12:45
Let me see if I can pull it up. 00:12:48
Sorry. 00:12:49
Is it on the vineyard? 00:12:59
Instagram. 00:13:01
She asked me for the information today. I don't know if she posted it today. 00:13:03
There is an event page, but I don't know if she posted the map. 00:13:07
Actually I don't know how to do that. 00:13:10
Oh, I did it. 00:13:18
So it will be right outside of the landing the. 00:13:20
Because they wouldn't let us do it on the platform. 00:13:25
And so it'll be right outside of that and I will be there, UTA will potentially be there. They're going to try and get people 00:13:27
there. 00:13:31
And Utah City will be there. 00:13:35
So we'll just have a booth with information on Bike Month and then Utah City will share Utah City stuff and UTA will talk about. 00:13:37
Umm ways to use the front runner and Anthony Was going to look into you guys being there and sharing. 00:13:46
Was it you guys? 00:13:53
You have to remind me sharing the front runner passes. 00:13:55
No, we'll talk about it. 00:13:59
OK. So we can talk a little bit more about if you guys are able to come and participate, that would be super awesome. I'm planning 00:14:00
on having. 00:14:04
Like a. 00:14:09
Muffins and yogurt and. 00:14:10
Fruit juice, maybe hot chocolate, all there. 00:14:13
From 7:30 until about 9:00. 00:14:17
Do you guys have any questions on that for Friday? 00:14:20
Mute was slightly concerned because if a lot of people try and use their bike racks. 00:14:25
They don't have enough room. 00:14:30
But hopefully we won't run into that problem. They just said that they actually do have quite a bit of people that use them in 00:14:33
Utah County on the Are they talking about on the front runner itself? Yeah, on the front runner. 00:14:38
Yeah, OK. 00:14:44
Are you going to be there in Charlotte? 00:14:50
I'll be there, yeah. I'll be there on. 00:14:51
On Friday. 00:14:53
Is it 730? 00:14:57
I can be there. 00:14:59
OK, cool. 00:15:00
And then we have bike story time on the 20th at 9:30. 00:15:03
And they'll be doing like a bike themed story time. And then I'll be giving out stickers again, pins if we have any left. 00:15:07
We got. Oh, I should have circled back, sorry. 00:15:13
Back to school day. We give away pins this year. This is our first year we've ever done pins. There's some on the table for you 00:15:16
guys if you want to grab some. 00:15:19
They just say bike month on them but stuff like that. I was really excited to see your guys logo because that could change next 00:15:22
year and we could be using the logo. 00:15:26
For you guys instead of just like it literally just says bike month, Vineyard bike month. 00:15:30
So we could do like a mix of both, which would be really exciting. 00:15:34
But it seems like we had a great turn out because I didn't get a lot of pins back. 00:15:38
So that's a good sign. 00:15:42
And then we have the tour of Utah City at Alette. That is wrong. It says 10 AM. It's 11 AM. They changed it to 11 AM. 00:15:45
Utah City did. 00:15:53
So I will get that updated but. 00:15:54
I haven't received the map for that yet. 00:15:58
I'm hoping I'll receive it here within this week. 00:16:00
So we can get it shared for. 00:16:03
Everyone to use last year, we had a great turn out for Utah City and I think especially with everything going on down there. 00:16:05
We're gonna have an even bigger turn out this year, so it should be a huge success. 00:16:11
Where are they starting? 00:16:15
I don't know. 00:16:18
We talked about starting just at Grove Park and that's pretty essential. 00:16:19
Kind of just riding N on the trail. 00:16:24
Around by the front on our station, Yeah, that's great. Last year we started at Sunset Beach and I know they were saying that was 00:16:26
a little too far. 00:16:29
So we had a bunch of. 00:16:32
Not about We had a few little kids that. 00:16:34
Had a rough time. Yeah, yeah. So hopefully. 00:16:37
Maybe they can do it. 00:16:43
And then lastly, we have our bike scavenger hunt that's going on all month long. I hope you guys signed up through the app. 00:16:46
You just have to download the app and it's sending push notifications for not only our scavenger hunt spots. 00:16:52
But also all of our events you should be getting push notifications on our Vineyard. 00:16:57
City app and then if you complete. 00:17:02
Umm, I should have pulled up the rules. 00:17:06
Jenna, our communications manager, made the rules, and so I'm not. 00:17:10
Totally familiar with them, but. 00:17:14
I believe it's. 00:17:16
For every 5 scavenger hotspots you complete throughout. 00:17:18
The month. 00:17:21
There's an option for I. 00:17:22
5 to 10 every week. 00:17:24
And for every five that you complete. 00:17:26
You get entered into a drawing. You could win either. I should have brought it up. Sorry. That basket right there, which is just a 00:17:28
bunch of. 00:17:31
Bike stuff or the E bike out in the hallway. 00:17:34
So for every 5 then you get entered in you can get up to I. 00:17:40
Can't remember, probably like. 00:17:45
5 entries. 00:17:48
Probably more than that, but. 00:17:49
And then all of our activities are part of that. 00:17:51
We are also doing like what we're calling caches. 00:17:53
At some of the events and some of the. 00:17:57
Scavenger hunt locations so. 00:18:00
For instance, one of the locations next week. 00:18:04
Will have umm. 00:18:07
Stickers that are exclusive. Very few people have these stickers. 00:18:10
Their Vineyard specific stickers that are exclusive and they'll be at one of the scavenger hunt locations. 00:18:15
They're kind of just like an extra grab for people that are participating to try and get them out there and participating. 00:18:22
And then tomorrow. 00:18:28
I will just tell you guys that. 00:18:30
The City Council, if you go to the City Council meeting on a bike. 00:18:34
You are entered in. You can use that as a scavenger hunt location and I'm giving away bells. 00:18:38
Tomorrow bike bells and I also brought some for you guys on the table if you would like those. 00:18:43
So just for example different locations of the scavenger hunt, I will be there giving away free stuff. 00:18:48
The last week of. 00:18:53
The month. 00:18:55
Scavenger hunt locations were really pushing. We have. 00:18:56
Three potential locations that are pretty interested in giving away free items. Three businesses that are giving away 3 free items 00:18:59
for like an hour. 00:19:03
On a specific day? Cool. 00:19:08
We have not officially confirmed yet, but they are very actively excited about this. 00:19:11
I imagine we'll have at least 2 for sure. 00:19:15
And those are my updates for bike month. Do you guys have any questions about that? 00:19:19
This is great. 00:19:24
Thank you so much for yeah, planning and executing this is. 00:19:25
Great, a great community. 00:19:30
Thanks. 00:19:32
At the beginning of May. 00:19:35
OK, Yep. 00:19:36
Every year I talk about doing a video with the bike or the Active Transportation Commission to kick off Bike Month. And next year 00:19:39
is going to be the year. That's the year we're going to record it in August, yes. I'm starting all of my events a year in advance, 00:19:46
so August, close to a year in advance, So August I will be coming to record you guys, yes. 00:19:53
For a bike month. 00:20:00
Make it happen. Yeah. I also wanted to mention just while I'm up here, Vineyard Days is coming up. It's the first weekend in June, 00:20:01
so it's June 3rd through the 7th. 00:20:06
We have activities, all all. 00:20:12
Week long. 00:20:15
But specifically we have our non motorized parade with which some of you guys know started. 00:20:17
From. 00:20:22
As part of Bike Month, it's kind of. 00:20:23
In between Bicuantham vineyard days now because. 00:20:26
Black Month ends and Vineyard Days is always the first weekend in June. 00:20:29
But we will still be doing a non motorized parade on the 6th. 00:20:32
Of June and I would absolutely love it if the bike or the Active Transportation Commission would be a part of that like they have 00:20:36
in the previous years. 00:20:40
That's the Friday. 00:20:44
Yep, Friday at 7:00. 00:20:46
It's about 1/2 mile, a little less. 00:20:48
And if you guys want to like decorate your bikes or bring cool bikes if you have whatever you have, I know we've talked a lot 00:20:51
about bringing like. 00:20:55
Unicycles. 00:21:00
Did have a unicycle show up last year? 00:21:02
Yeah. 00:21:04
Oh yeah. 00:21:07
Oh, and another guy. 00:21:08
Graydon Osler is one of them. That brown. 00:21:10
And the other dude I just randomly like. 00:21:14
Was driving and I saw him at night at a roundabout by my neighborhood and I was like hey. 00:21:18
Yeah, you should. 00:21:23
You should get them to come again. It would be really exciting to have more more of that fun stuff. 00:21:25
And then obviously if you guys have like, hey, we really want to do. 00:21:31
We want to decorate our wagons. Super cool. Let me know I can find the budget for you guys. 00:21:35
To make something like that happen if you guys are interested, we're really looking at next year doing non motorized wagons. 00:21:40
So like. 00:21:47
Pioneer wagon type vibes. 00:21:50
But just flatbed. I don't know how else to describe it. Like wood wheels that you pull. 00:21:53
Still non motorized. Yes, Thank you. OK. 00:21:58
Yeah. 00:22:03
Like a hand car and we would decorate those as just like a flow. 00:22:03
Lehigh City does it for their non motorized parade, for their bike rodeo or not the bike rodeo, their rodeo. Just a regular rodeo. 00:22:07
And so it's something I'm looking at. 00:22:15
Potentially for next year, but this year we do have funds that we could use if you guys want to go all out and decorate wagons or. 00:22:17
Do a whole non motorized float. 00:22:25
That'd be super awesome. 00:22:27
Just let me know on that. 00:22:30
And then? 00:22:32
So I'll put you guys down for the parade, then we'll be there. Yeah. Cool. And if there's any other. 00:22:33
Sponsors or bike? 00:22:40
If bike Utah. 00:22:42
Wants to be a part of our non motorized parade. That'd be super cool if you guys know. I know in previous years we've talked about 00:22:43
bringing like a. 00:22:47
Mountain bike club. 00:22:51
But I can never find good contacts for that, so if you guys have people. 00:22:52
Yeah, if you wouldn't mind sending it. If you send it to Anthony, he wouldn't send to me. 00:22:56
Is my aunt who literally like runs it? 00:23:01
But she's based in Midway. 00:23:04
Oh cool. I don't know. 00:23:07
If it's just like a midway thing. 00:23:10
Or if it's broader, but. 00:23:12
Yeah, yeah, it'd be super fun to get something like that. 00:23:15
So if you have a contact I want to send it over, that'd be super awesome. 00:23:18
Yeah, any way we can grow the non motorized parade? I would love to keep it going and have as many entries as we can. Usually we 00:23:22
have about 25 entries, but the more. 00:23:26
The better. 00:23:30
How should I? 00:23:32
Contact you. 00:23:33
Anthony can send you my e-mail or you can e-mail Anthony either way. 00:23:34
And we can make it happen. 00:23:38
And this would be open to like if a. 00:23:40
I know there is a business that I had talked to. 00:23:43
That didn't workout for. 00:23:46
A few things, but if they wanted to show up for the parade. 00:23:48
They get their own entry and. 00:23:51
Yeah, it's free. 00:23:52
Yep that would be super awesome. Hope they want to come be a part of it. 00:23:54
That's all I have, unless you guys have any questions. 00:23:58
This is great. Thanks for all you doing. Yeah, Thank you. 00:24:01
Amazing. 00:24:05
OK. And the last item of business is? 00:24:09
Updates on our Wayfinding Master plan project. 00:24:13
One moment, please. 00:24:24
OK, so we held an open house. 00:24:48
What was it 2 weeks ago? 00:24:52
And we received some feedback, so if we sorry. 00:24:55
Let's zoom out really quick. 00:24:59
When we originally came to you. 00:25:02
The ATC, we had these four signs. 00:25:05
If you remember that. 00:25:09
And then we. 00:25:12
Collectively whittled it down to three sides. 00:25:14
And then we took those 3 signs to the community. Look at that. 00:25:17
Who's that guy? 00:25:22
Who are these guys? 00:25:25
So we had them out for people to give con. 00:25:27
Comment and. 00:25:30
The comment from the community was they really liked the one that Cash just standing next to. 00:25:33
So. 00:25:39
Just really like cash. 00:25:40
Yeah. So we moved ahead. 00:25:44
With that signage and. 00:25:47
The signage family would look like this. 00:25:51
Yeah, to that nesting. 00:25:56
I just want to make you happy. 00:25:58
So just for that on the pavement marker, we would. 00:26:05
Excuse me? 00:26:11
It's always recommended that there's. 00:26:12
I would say there's, it's always recommended to have like kind of like a consistent pavement marker that is kind of used 00:26:14
throughout other cities as well. 00:26:18
And mainly just to, you know, I guess ease the confusion on what's a new symbol would be. 00:26:22
And then of course something like this, we would have to give it to our striping contractor. They would have to make a 00:26:29
specialized. 00:26:31
Like a stencil Stencil. Thank you specialized stencil. 00:26:37
To have applied. 00:26:40
On that and of course just putting it throughout the city, we have several pavements. 00:26:41
Several St. sections that we're going to be doing pavement preservations on. So we have obviously we have no problem. 00:26:47
Applying whatever the new markers would be. 00:26:53
On that. And then there's areas that we don't have. 00:26:55
Paper preservation is kind of slated for. 00:26:58
At the intent of. 00:27:00
The councils to apply that across the citywide then we would just have to. 00:27:02
Grind out the old markers, we can block them out. 00:27:07
They don't really last very well. We just grind them out and apply the new markers on there. Yeah, My only feedback was just. 00:27:11
Kind of like the consistency from one place to another place, but. 00:27:17
I mean. 00:27:22
And Alice I I personally don't have an issue with identifying that. 00:27:23
But uh. 00:27:27
At least on local roads, I tend to be a safer, slower driver. 00:27:29
I won't attest by the way I drive on I-15, but. 00:27:34
Some of the guidance in this document also talks about how these pavement markers can be used specifically on the multi use paths, 00:27:40
just to reinforce what path you're on. 00:27:44
So not necessarily functioning as a sharrow, but just as like a marker on the multi use path. 00:27:49
Does that make sense? 00:27:58
OK, so I apologize. So you're talking about the trails and so forth? Yeah, OK, that's the that's a different story. We don't 00:27:59
currently have any markers on those. Okay, great. 00:28:03
Yeah, because. 00:28:08
If you. 00:28:10
Right, unlike the Murdoch Canal or? 00:28:12
The Jordan River Trail, sometimes you can get lost so. 00:28:15
Udot put. 00:28:19
Golden spoke like markers. 00:28:21
Along the way and it helps a lot. 00:28:24
Umm, yeah. So this is the family. I can go into each sign if you'd like, like a closer up. OK. 00:28:28
And this whole chapter. 00:28:38
Will eventually be formatted and placed within your existing active transportation plan. 00:28:41
So it won't necessarily be a unique document, it's just kind of in Word format. 00:28:47
I'm just. 00:28:51
Having Ave. review at 1st and then I'll get it up to you guys. 00:28:52
So this is your kind of bread and butter sign right here. It's your confirmation sign. 00:28:59
This is going to have the different destinations as. 00:29:04
The distance and amount of time it would take to get to any of those destinations, both walking and biking. 00:29:09
Has your nice little parent and child symbol. 00:29:16
This is a destination sign. 00:29:23
Or sorry, confirmation sign. 00:29:27
They replaced after turns, so if you think about like a destination, you have your destination sign. 00:29:29
You take a turn and then you have a confirmation sign that tells you you have made the right decision. OK. 00:29:35
Umm. 00:29:41
Next one, destination signs. So we've talked about this previously, but the idea there is you wouldn't necessarily put this at 00:29:44
every single destination throughout your community. 00:29:50
You would just put it. 00:29:55
Where it's not obvious what the destination you've arrived at. So if it's a school and it has a giant sign. 00:29:57
For the name of the school. 00:30:02
You probably wouldn't need this, but in a situation maybe like a park where it's unclear what park that. 00:30:04
This is you could use this sign. 00:30:09
This is a turn sign. 00:30:13
So used when providing guidance to turn to a single destination. 00:30:15
And then this is your Topper. 00:30:21
Like you might use this in a bike Blvd. 00:30:25
If you guys want to do those. 00:30:28
And then your pavement marker that we talked about. 00:30:30
And then we have these school signs that you can put at the bottom too. 00:30:35
And we've. 00:30:38
Provided guidance as well on. 00:30:39
Where you'd put those school signs. 00:30:42
So, um. 00:30:43
I can't remember, I think it's 1/4 mile. 00:30:45
Let's see. 00:30:50
Somewhere in there. So I think it's a quarter mile. 00:30:54
From schools, you'll have those school signs. 00:30:57
And and we've talked previously that. 00:30:59
Part of the intent of this wayfinding system is to. 00:31:04
Brand Your community is like an active transportation community. 00:31:08
And so that's been. 00:31:11
Really a priority for us as we've created this document. 00:31:13
To make sure that it's like visually appealing and really kind of. 00:31:17
Stands out. 00:31:20
Tells the story or message that you guys want for your community. 00:31:22
Questions. 00:31:26
Comments. 00:31:28
Points of disgust. 00:31:33
And I guess for Naseem. 00:31:38
In this document. 00:31:42
We've tried to make it really clear. 00:31:43
The logic of the decisions that we've made. 00:31:45
Because one of the things that's like. 00:31:49
Difficult. 00:31:51
With Vineyard, as you're growing so much and you're changing a lot. 00:31:53
Most other. 00:31:59
Wayfinding plans that exist they they may be like give guidance for like 1 path. 00:32:01
Whereas you guys have like multi use paths everywhere in your community. Like your strengths actually make it harder to make a 00:32:06
wayfinding document and the fact that you're changing. 00:32:10
So throughout the document we tried to make it really clear. 00:32:15
What our logic was so that it's easy to kind of be flexible and. 00:32:18
Role with the changes. 00:32:25
And continue to implement the plan even if. 00:32:28
Maybe some context changes? 00:32:31
Do you recommend like a? 00:32:37
A phased implementation approach to this. Yeah, I can show you some of that. 00:32:40
The Let's see. 00:32:47
So we. 00:32:49
You really got some bang for your buck here. 00:32:52
Looking at you, Anthony. 00:32:55
So starting on page 18. 00:32:58
All the way to page 46. That's like every single one of your signs with your current system. 00:33:01
Planned out for you? 00:33:08
Perfect. Yeah, it took forever. 00:33:10
And and it's and it's all phased. 00:33:15
Let me see if I can get a map for you. Sorry. 00:33:18
So this is all of your signage? 00:33:23
Let's see. And then this is that logic that I'm talking about where. 00:33:32
And it's throughout the document where it's like explaining. 00:33:36
Why we chose which destinations and? 00:33:39
The hierarchy that we use to choose it because you don't want to just like put like 10 destinations on a sign, you want to choose 00:33:44
like 3 and make it like really legible. 00:33:47
So that's all in here. Let's see. 00:33:51
And then here's your prioritization rating, which? 00:33:55
Then tells you. 00:33:58
Sort of the order. 00:34:03
And that's all within the document as well. 00:34:04
And so, yeah, it's a phased approach. 00:34:07
Do we know like like? 00:34:09
Cost of. 00:34:10
Assign or all of the signs? Yeah, not off the top of my head. 00:34:13
But umm. 00:34:18
I do have that number somewhere one second I can probe. 00:34:20
So this is just working with. 00:34:26
Warm cities. 00:34:28
Sign Shop. 00:34:30
One second. 00:34:31
OK, price list. 00:34:43
It's 14. 00:34:46
Dollars and $0.29 per square foot of sign. 00:34:49
Now we know in essence, I think what what the city with this, excuse me, what the city would do is develop based on your phase 00:34:56
approach and develop the specifics to all the signs that would be required. 00:35:01
For each phase and then. 00:35:07
Put it out for an RFP for a consult for excuse me for a contractor to. 00:35:10
Provide bids for in terms of that, I mean, typically what we like to do is like to use local suppliers and. 00:35:16
Suppliers. Manufacturers. 00:35:22
Depending on the. 00:35:24
Excuse me doing on the price. 00:35:25
For the negative total price of the contract really determines the method we would deitalize. 00:35:27
The other method that we would look at is. 00:35:35
Going looking for a. 00:35:37
Manufacturer that has a state contract. 00:35:40
Typically with a Utah State contract. 00:35:43
And then with that being said, it's already been competitively bid. 00:35:45
That the city could go towards and typically those are. 00:35:49
Those would be a local manufacturer. 00:35:53
As well so. 00:35:55
Again, based on square foot square footage, but I think you know, like all else depending on how many colors and. 00:35:58
Materials etc etc. 00:36:04
So it's kind of hard to put a price on. 00:36:07
Some things, and of course. 00:36:09
The quantities as ordered. 00:36:11
Same value and scales of economics and typically. 00:36:14
The city, we would always order extra signs. 00:36:18
Just because we always have people. 00:36:21
People like to drive their cars through signs and trees around here. 00:36:24
OK. So yeah, that would like so that would that's towards our assign, our assigned budget, our assigned budget that we have on the 00:36:27
city. 00:36:31
As part of our regular operations is. 00:36:35
We always have some extra money in there just because someone has a stop sign. We don't wait until. 00:36:37
Council to approve a budget amendment to be able to please go ahead and replace it. 00:36:43
And we would want to do the same thing with wayfinding signs. 00:36:47
As well. 00:36:51
Great. Thanks, Nessie. 00:36:53
Thanks, Chris. 00:36:57
This is grace. 00:36:58
This is exciting. 00:37:00
Good stuff happening. 00:37:02
OK, umm. 00:37:07
And then we have this work session. 00:37:10
400 South Rd. Design and other Rd. designs at 8 considerations. 00:37:13
Yeah. So I can just introduce this part of the work session. So as we all know, the city is growing. 00:37:22
Pretty fast and. 00:37:28
Holdaway fields is. 00:37:30
A part of the city South that's growing. 00:37:33
As well-being built out. 00:37:35
Under a development agreement. 00:37:37
Now. 00:37:39
The. 00:37:40
Development ongoing and holdaway fields is nearing the part where. 00:37:42
They would have developers have to work with the city. 00:37:46
To come up with Rd. designs. 00:37:49
And one of the very important ones that. 00:37:52
Would like to share with. 00:37:59
All of you is. 00:38:02
Discussions on. 00:38:04
How 400 S? 00:38:06
It's gonna look to the east terminus all through, so just think about it from. 00:38:08
Main Street all the way to. All the way to. 00:38:13
Screen. 00:38:19
Yeah. 00:38:27
Having said that, we. 00:38:32
You know, uh. 00:38:35
Staff wants to just share some ideas with you. 00:38:36
Just to pick your brain as well on what? 00:38:39
The road could potentially look as this is being designed. 00:38:41
It's still very initial stages. 00:38:46
It hasn't gone to a stage where. 00:38:49
Anything is. 00:38:52
Hasn't gone to a stage. Hasn't gone to a stage. 00:38:55
Anything has to be. 00:39:00
Decided upon now. 00:39:03
But uh. 00:39:05
We want to. 00:39:05
Hear from you and. 00:39:07
See what we can fit in that right away. 00:39:09
That our money can. 00:39:12
Potentially. 00:39:13
Well, we could potentially afford to do as a city. 00:39:15
And. 00:39:18
What the developer has to do as well. So that's why we're here at this time. Just turn it over to. 00:39:20
Patrick and. 00:39:25
Naseem. 00:39:27
To talk more about what it could potentially be and pick your brain. 00:39:29
After that. 00:39:33
Cash would also share some ideas on the other roads that we talked about. 00:39:34
In the staff report. 00:39:38
Thank you. 00:39:40
Just quickly does everybody know? 00:39:41
Of the extension of 400 S that we're talking about. 00:39:45
Is it? Is it worth? Vineyard Elementary Is. 00:39:52
But. 00:39:58
West of West, yeah, West of there and then. 00:40:01
Out like. 00:40:06
So there's holdaway, there's 400 S and it comes all the way, right? 00:40:07
Yeah, Yep. 00:40:13
Does that make sense? 00:40:15
So 400 S St. 00:40:18
Geneva. 00:40:24
Comes over here. 00:40:29
Essentially terminates right there. 00:40:31
This is we can show a map. 00:40:35
Yeah. 00:40:38
OK, am I on now? 00:40:44
Sorry about that, I don't know. 00:40:46
I am not. 00:40:49
Super IT savvy, apparently. 00:40:50
I'll just go to. 00:40:54
Google Maps. 00:40:56
So this is the holdaway fields area. 00:40:59
Umm, so right now Main St. continues down through here. 00:41:03
And then connects into Sleepy Ridge. 00:41:08
And as of now, there's a there's a roundabout. 00:41:11
Map if you want to. 00:41:14
You know, ignore the utilities and everything. 00:41:17
There's a roundabout right here. 00:41:22
There's a church building being built right here, but currently the road. 00:41:25
Just stops, right? 00:41:29
At the start of that church building property. 00:41:31
The church building will. 00:41:34
They're the developer for the church will. 00:41:37
Continue the road to the edge of their property. 00:41:39
And then the developer for the rest of the area will continue that road. 00:41:43
And connect to the existing 400 South Rd. on this end. 00:41:49
Close to Holdaway Rd. 00:41:54
So that's a little bit of context. 00:41:58
And so we've been kind of working with. 00:42:04
The developer to look at. 00:42:08
Some different. 00:42:10
Cross sections for that road, they kind of just threw in a we, we looked at their preliminary preliminary design and they just 00:42:12
threw in a standard cross section. 00:42:18
But we felt like it would be better to. 00:42:23
To kind of. 00:42:26
Get more use out of 400 S. 00:42:28
And there are some challenges with it too. I guess I should back up in. 00:42:32
Kind of show. 00:42:38
The property lines. Now I'm going to use three different maps to show you the same thing. 00:42:39
So as we get into this section, so. 00:42:45
This section here is a 77 foot right away. 00:42:49
That the developer will build. 00:42:54
But that will end about here. 00:42:57
Where we get into some funky. 00:43:00
Kind of right away. 00:43:03
Areas so because of this property right here we have a very thin. 00:43:05
Right away section, it's only about 50 feet. 00:43:11
And then it opens back up to 65 feet. 00:43:15
And the 65 foot right away was was to match the right of way. 00:43:20
For 400 S on this side. 00:43:25
Currently 400 S over here. 00:43:28
Is a three lane Rd. 00:43:31
Two or one in each direction with the. 00:43:34
A median. 00:43:36
And. 00:43:37
Sidewalk right up against the road on the north half. Park strip on the South. 00:43:38
So OK, hopefully I got through all the context. Any questions so far? 00:43:44
Is there enough? 00:43:51
Space for a bike lane? 00:43:53
Yeah. So we're kind of looking at some options, cross section options on here. I'll just start with the full right away width. So 00:43:56
this is the 77 foot width that the developer will have for most of the road section that they're going to build through here. 00:44:04
So this is kind of what we came up with. 00:44:14
So. 00:44:17
We're we're kind of. 00:44:18
Feeling like we were getting away from the median idea in a lot of situations because that gives us more space to use for bike 00:44:20
lanes and whatnot. 00:44:25
So there would be no median here and also this is a very residential area. 00:44:30
Not much. 00:44:36
Turning off of this road, there's there's there's some driveway accesses and some smaller roads that come off of this road, but 00:44:38
it's it's. 00:44:42
Just small residential local roads that do that. 00:44:46
So we took out the median. 00:44:50
And we put in bike lanes on each side. 00:44:54
So this this cross section would have 6 foot bike lanes with a 2 foot buffer between the bike lane and the and the drive lane. 00:44:57
We could get a 8 foot park strip. 00:45:07
And then on this side, this would be the north side of the road, we're showing a 12 foot. 00:45:11
Path Trail. 00:45:19
So I guess to go back and give you a little bit more reference again. 00:45:21
So currently as it's built now, there's an 8 foot. 00:45:27
Zoomed in a little too much. 00:45:32
There's an 8 foot trail that comes down Main St. 00:45:34
And turns that corner and starts. 00:45:37
Toward the east. 00:45:41
So we're kind of planning on. 00:45:43
Picking that trail up and continuing it. 00:45:46
There's, you know, future Park over here, I believe. 00:45:49
As you go further down, there's been some interest in. 00:45:55
Creating. 00:45:59
Bike paths and whatnot with Orem. 00:46:00
And they have they also have a trail down in this area by Lakeside Park. 00:46:02
So we would. 00:46:08
We would try to like to continue that trail on as much as we can, but. 00:46:12
With this right away, the generous amount that we have, we could get a 12 foot trail on the north half. 00:46:16
And then a six foot sidewalk, 6 foot standard sidewalk on the South. 00:46:23
Any questions with that so far or any thoughts or suggestions? 00:46:31
And would you be able to? 00:46:35
So for that. 00:46:36
One section where it's a narrower right away. 00:46:38
Would you be able to continue? 00:46:43
All of this Or would it just be? 00:46:46
We could fit a trail, but maybe not a 12 foot trail in that section. Well, it gets really tricky. I'll I'll just. 00:46:48
So I came up with three different right away sections here. 00:46:56
So this is the end part. We can maintain sidewalks, park strips. 00:47:00
Bike lanes. 00:47:06
But but all that gets a little narrower. So that's that's at the end as it gets in a holdaway Rd. 00:47:07
But then this is the very skinny section. 00:47:13
So we only have, like I said, 50 feet. 00:47:17
So I guess we have options, but we were thinking the best would be to maintain the bike lanes. 00:47:20
Even though there's not a buffer at this section and and again, this would be just for. 00:47:27
This very small. 00:47:33
Oh, sorry. 00:47:35
It would just be for this very small section. There would be a transition down to it and then a transition back out. 00:47:37
It would be just about how long is that section roughly, give or take. 00:47:44
Well, I mean, I, I would, I would think that we would have about 100 feet. 00:47:47
Gosh, I can't work this. 00:47:55
The transition length would be. 00:47:57
Probably about 100 feet, maybe 200 feet. 00:48:00
Actually, 200 feet would probably be. 00:48:03
So for about 200 feet, that's your transition point, right? So the sidewalks are coming in. 00:48:05
The the park strips disappearing. 00:48:13
And then the park strip would really disappear just for that really small section, like 10 feet or whatever. 00:48:15
And then it would start to transition back out. 00:48:21
Yeah, cool. 00:48:23
And we would still. 00:48:27
We would still have a sidewalk there for. 00:48:28
I'm just envisioning maybe a frequent user of this would be. 00:48:32
Elementary school kids that. 00:48:36
Yeah, at the school so they could stay. 00:48:37
Kind of elevated and beyond the narrower sidewalk, they wouldn't have to necessarily transition down onto the bike, yeah. 00:48:41
Yeah. So in this scenario, we maintain a six foot sidewalk on both sides. 00:48:48
This 2 feet is the curb and gutter. 00:48:53
This program just doesn't really show curb and gutter very well. 00:48:56
But that's curb and gutter and then. 00:49:00
We would maintain a six foot bike lane. 00:49:03
But again. 00:49:06
There would be no buffer on the bike lane for that small section. Then it would taper back out again. Yeah, sure. Is it possible 00:49:07
to put a a ramp or something from that spot to get onto the sidewalk? 00:49:14
The bikes. 00:49:21
Just until you transition over to the larger, the wider. 00:49:25
Area. 00:49:29
You could ramp back off so that. 00:49:31
Like if kids were going in the bike lane and then. 00:49:33
Yeah, I understand what you're trying to say. I just want to see an area because Ariel, excuse me, because dude do ramped for 00:49:37
transition and on and off. You have to be careful because. 00:49:41
It causes confusions. Again, I want to say specifically Utah drivers, but drivers in general, they see a ramp and they're like, 00:49:46
oh, I see what you're saying. So what we would end up doing something like this is, I would hate to say as inconvenient as it 00:49:51
might look. 00:49:55
Now if that's the case, then Patrick and I we could see about doing like a mid block crossing. 00:50:00
Intentionally, which would give which would provide an opportunity for bicyclists to. 00:50:07
Safely. 00:50:12
Enter onto the sidewalk. 00:50:13
From that section and then cars would be like, oh this is not a place for me to drive onto. 00:50:16
I hope. 00:50:21
But yeah, yeah, I think, I think there could be some options like. 00:50:22
A bulb out with bike lane. Let me see if I can just. 00:50:27
See if I can just find something real fast maybe? 00:50:33
Not great. 00:50:41
But. 00:50:43
Kind of what what Naseem was saying if we did kind of a bulb out. 00:50:44
Section with like an intentional crop pedestrian crossing so it feels more natural. 00:50:48
But then the bike lane would go through that bulb out. 00:50:54
You know that maybe that could be. 00:50:58
An option. 00:51:00
I'm not really having good. 00:51:03
Luck kind of finding a good picture of that, but. 00:51:04
Yeah, that would be nice to have. 00:51:11
Some sort of transition, because there are. 00:51:13
There are a few I think. 00:51:16
Trails that transition into. 00:51:19
Smaller sidewalks. 00:51:22
And other places in the city. 00:51:24
And I think being a. 00:51:27
A kid on a bike. In that situation, it makes sense to just keep going on the sidewalk. 00:51:30
Being a. 00:51:34
£200. 00:51:36
Man on a bike. 00:51:37
Sometimes it feels like it is like I don't know if I should be. 00:51:39
On the sidewalk here. 00:51:42
It might be better to transition onto the road or especially. 00:51:45
I mean, if we had bike lanes the whole way, I think that solves a lot of it is like you can just use the bike lane for the entire. 00:51:50
The entire thing. But yeah, if there's an option to have a transition. 00:51:56
Point somewhere that. 00:52:01
That might be nice. 00:52:02
Yeah. I mean, we could look into that, you know, maybe try to extend the trail a little bit further. 00:52:04
I mean, the unfortunate thing is unless we make some pretty serious changes, the trail kind of. 00:52:11
Ends there anyway. Yeah, sure. 00:52:17
Just kind of. 00:52:20
Going back to the. 00:52:21
The property map. 00:52:23
We might be able to fit it in. 00:52:25
In a way up to Holdaway Rd. 00:52:27
But then from there on, it kind of just transitions to a sidewalk. 00:52:30
Not sure how. 00:52:37
Yeah, I mean, that just looks like a standard 6 foot sidewalk right there. 00:52:38
But yeah, I mean, I guess there could be some options. 00:52:46
So starting at holdaway and moving. 00:52:53
East or kind of just add that intersection. 00:52:55
And around they're moving E that. 00:52:58
That would be. 00:53:01
I feel like this is a good plan. 00:53:03
Kind of from that point W from that point EI feel like east wise it's. 00:53:05
Parv and as part of the discussions with Orem City to help with to work with Orem City in terms of. 00:53:11
Because I want to say these, but I mean further east of Lakeside Park. 00:53:17
Yeah, on that too. 00:53:21
Work with Warm City. 00:53:23
To kind of comfortable with consensus to. 00:53:28
Have them as partners on there. 00:53:30
We feel that having putting this into play now. 00:53:32
Provides us a good. 00:53:35
Foundation to say. 00:53:37
You know, Vinder said. He's serious about doing something and we've already done it. 00:53:39
Yeah, and now we can. 00:53:43
Look at the foreigner SI mean. 00:53:45
If Arm City, they're listening to this meeting and. 00:53:48
I think I would be very supportive. They just turn over the road that's that's the road that they still own for South. 00:53:52
Or to Venture City and to say hey. 00:53:58
We'll say we'll take it, pay for it, maintain it. 00:54:00
But then they have no say on. 00:54:04
As making the modifications that we feel is necessary. 00:54:06
On that, I mean they are good partners. 00:54:10
They're working with us. 00:54:14
Although it's our money, but they're working with us on realigning the. 00:54:15
Driveway into Lakeside Park. 00:54:19
So it's not a offset for. 00:54:22
For like intersection. 00:54:25
That will be a true. 00:54:27
Proper intersection as well, so. 00:54:29
On that, but I think that's like again, it's kind of like saying the foundation is saying the start. 00:54:32
As well as Patrick and I will. 00:54:37
Take a look to see if at 3 lane Rd. this really requires 400 S. 00:54:40
Going all the way West wise. 00:54:45
Yeah, it really feels like if. 00:54:47
The entirety of 400 S. 00:54:49
What you just presented that would solve a lot of problems. 00:54:52
At all along there. 00:54:56
Yeah, and like like I mentioned the trail. 00:54:58
There's a trail here that can easily be continued. 00:55:01
To there if we got buy in with Orem. 00:55:05
And then from there on, you know, maybe. 00:55:10
Restriping of the road or whatnot to try to. 00:55:13
To work something in but. 00:55:17
Is that would be a larger project of course. 00:55:19
Sorry, I'm asking all my questions. Is the. 00:55:21
6 foot I think you said 6 foot bike lane. 00:55:25
That would be big enough for a golf cart, right? 00:55:30
I was wondering. 00:55:33
Yes, I don't know. 00:55:35
About 6 feet wide by itself. 00:55:39
And typically again, I haven't seen a. 00:55:42
Green Book, which is the transportation. 00:55:47
Bible for railway designs. I haven't seen green book for golf carts yet but they recommend they recommend 8 feet. 00:55:50
A fee of payment for a golf cart is recommended. 00:55:58
As the minimum but I think and my eyes are bad. 00:56:01
It's 6 feet. You have 6 foot. 00:56:05
And then if you have the buffer. 00:56:07
That one have about 1 1/2 foot buffer than the gutter. 00:56:08
That provides in that section itself provides for a section for someone to. 00:56:12
Maneuver golf carts. 00:56:17
That was the case. Would it make any sense to do like a 10 foot? 00:56:19
Travel Lane and. 00:56:23
Give the golf carts another foot. 00:56:25
No, no, no. OK. 00:56:28
They're rampant, the scene, I think. 00:56:32
There's been an ongoing complaint of Where do golf carts actually belong? 00:56:37
And I'm I'm willing to. 00:56:44
To get rid of the biker there and put a golf cart there instead. 00:56:48
Really quick, can I share something? 00:56:53
Sharing my opinion on more golf course along is on the golf course Yeah fair. 00:56:59
I mean this I guess this neighborhood is. 00:57:06
Chris was ready. 00:57:11
Wow, excellent. 00:57:16
Yeah, everything you've ever wanted. 00:57:18
I was too good. 00:57:23
Good. I do envision that this neighborhood being right next to a golf course. 00:57:25
Could see some. 00:57:30
Golf cart. 00:57:31
Usage around, I mean even now. 00:57:33
I've seen quite a few golf carts around that neighborhood. 00:57:36
So I think having a designed and dedicated spot for them could ease some tension so they're not on the. 00:57:41
I mean even a 12 foot path. 00:57:48
Is awesome. 00:57:51
But. 00:57:52
Becomes less awesome if you're. 00:57:53
Toddler is sharing the path with the. 00:57:55
A teenager on a golf cart again. I didn't know that if. 00:57:58
Mistaken that that conversation maybe brought up at tomorrow night's council meeting so. 00:58:03
I can't guarantee that because I don't control council meetings, but I think that might be a conversation, a topic. 00:58:10
Conversation obviously, Council member. 00:58:15
The council members. 00:58:19
OK, well the your council members are your best to go to to. 00:58:20
Ask those questions. 00:58:24
In regards to discussion points, yeah, awesome. OK. 00:58:25
Thank you. 00:58:30
I'm not promising anything here but like if. 00:58:31
Like maybe with the idea that we were talking about earlier. 00:58:34
If we do a bull belt and bring the bike lane. 00:58:37
Into that. 00:58:40
I don't know if there's a way we can so the curb, the curb would come out with that bulb out. 00:58:42
I'm not sharing anymore, sorry. 00:58:48
Anyway, the curve would come out with that and then the bike lane. 00:58:53
Could maybe be integrated with the sidewalk so it it still feels like a 12 foot trail. 00:58:56
Along like through this skinny section, but it would just be the bike, but the bike lane would be integrated with the sidewalk. I 00:59:02
don't know, maybe we could look at something like that. 00:59:07
Yeah, that could be neat. So it's just. 00:59:13
Turning it into a shared use, yeah. 00:59:15
But then I guess, but then right after that skinny section, this is the cross section that we were. 00:59:18
We were coming up with where as a buffer lane again for the bike lane, but it's slightly smaller buffer. 00:59:24
But then we were just showing a standard 6 foot sidewalk. 00:59:33
If we try, if we wanted to try to get the trail through. 00:59:37
I don't know, maybe we sacrificed the. 00:59:41
The Park strip or. 00:59:45
Something like that. 00:59:47
I don't know if anybody else has strong opinions, I think this is. 00:59:50
Pretty good. I like the idea of like. 00:59:54
Actual separation between. 00:59:56
You know, people walking and maybe. 00:59:59
Younger kids on bikes, on the sidewalk, and then. 01:00:01
Older people. 01:00:05
Maybe myself and. 01:00:07
People on. 01:00:08
Bigger vehicles like a golf cart. 01:00:09
Being more on the road. 01:00:11
Yeah, I mean. 01:00:14
I've had. 01:00:15
Yeah, like I go on strolls in the mornings and I had to go off of the sidewalk so a golf cart could. Yeah. 01:00:17
Like, wait, should I have right away, Right. Yeah, exactly. 01:00:26
Yeah. 01:00:31
Yeah. Well, I mean that's all I had with these cross sections. I don't know if there's any other questions. 01:00:32
Well, this is great. I'm excited to see what the. 01:00:43
What? 01:00:46
Other. 01:00:48
Come up with. 01:00:49
OK. Anything else you guys? 01:00:54
I quickly or I have a different Rd. segment to show real quick. I won't take too long. 01:00:58
I do really like not having. 01:01:06
The median, The turn median. 01:01:09
Yep, well. 01:01:11
I have something for you then. 01:01:12
Actually, I was going to say something, but I don't think it would have ever. Actually, I was going to say that we might at 01:01:16
certain intersections we might have like a turn lane or something, so. 01:01:21
We kind of have a median at that point, but I actually don't know. 01:01:27
It'll actually happen on that road. 01:01:30
We might because we have a roundabout. 01:01:33
Where it comes into. 01:01:36
That other Sleepy Ridge Rd. I can't remember the name now. 01:01:38
Anyway. 01:01:42
So I might, yeah, I think we, I think we could get away which is not having that median, that entire Rd. 01:01:43
All right, cool. OK. 01:01:49
So we've been looking at 300 W. 01:01:51
Mostly the north section to like the lakefront community. 01:01:54
And we potentially will be doing some restriping there. And so we've been looking at different ideas of how to utilize that 01:01:58
better. 01:02:01
Utilize that road better so. 01:02:04
Real quick, here's the existing conditions. You have parking on the West side, then you have a bike lane and then a 12 foot travel 01:02:06
lane. 12 foot. 01:02:10
Turn lane 12 traveling 5 foot bike lane. 01:02:14
So in total we have about 60 feet curb to curb. 01:02:17
And then a 5 foot bike lane and 110 parking stalls total on the. I guess it's not quite because that includes the parking stalls 01:02:21
on. 01:02:24
Vineyard Loop Rd. so you're probably around 9095 parking stalls on that road. 01:02:28
And So what we've been doing is kind of toying around with different ideas of how we could improve that road for everybody. So we 01:02:33
looked at doing a cycle track. So this would be having the bidirectional bike lanes on one side of the road. 01:02:40
So this would put it off to the West side of the road. 01:02:46
And you'd have 12 feet total of that, a 2 foot buffer and then you'd have 17 feet for angled parking and by going to angled 01:02:49
parking. 01:02:53
We could increase parking there. 01:02:56
Maybe up to 170 parking stalls or something. I give it it would increase parking capacity there by a lot, which I know the 01:02:59
Lakeland community is. 01:03:02
Has been requesting and so this is one way that we're trying to accomplish that. 01:03:06
And then we, you know. 01:03:11
Maintain those 12 foot travel lanes and then the 2 foot buffer the curb there at the end. 01:03:13
So forgive me, I'm not an artist. I quickly drew this up in PowerPoint just to kind of show you how that. 01:03:19
That cycle track would. 01:03:25
Continue down into this roundabout that would take you all the way up into Utah City. 01:03:28
Or you could take it along the Shoreline trail here. 01:03:32
I haven't quite, you know, I didn't really touch how it would get through the roundabout, but. 01:03:36
Just to give you an idea there. 01:03:40
This is the northern segment of that. 01:03:42
And this would be the southern segment? 01:03:44
And then looking at going further down on 300 W. 01:03:47
We do narrow to about. 01:03:52
33 foot width from curb to curb. 01:03:53
I could be wrong there. 01:03:56
But I was able to accomplish still maintaining that cycle track. It would narrow it down to 5 feet or 10 feet total. 01:03:57
And 10 foot travel lanes so that I definitely need to do some more, you know, looking into. 01:04:04
But for the purpose of the lakefront area, I think we could accomplish that. 01:04:10
There are a few areas of concerns that I do have with that cycle track and I'm curious about your. 01:04:14
To hear your opinions. 01:04:19
First of all, there are a lot of bulb outs. 01:04:20
Right. And so if we did have. 01:04:23
A that 12 foot cycle track on this side. 01:04:25
We're going to be interacting with a lot of bull bouts and some of them like. 01:04:30
This one for example, you have the big power pole right in the way. 01:04:34
And so I'm not sure the best way to navigate that, so I started looking at other. 01:04:38
Designs. I don't love them, I'm still. 01:04:43
Let me pull up the right browser here. 01:04:48
Still toying around with the different ideas, but like right here you could maintain the parking at the curb and then put the 01:04:51
cycle track further into traffic, but then you don't have the. 01:04:55
You know, protected. 01:05:00
Bike lanes here and cars would be backing into the cycle track which I don't love. 01:05:02
And the other idea would. 01:05:08
Put the cycle track on the east side of the road. 01:05:10
As we don't have as much bulb outs on that side because the power lines are only on the West side. 01:05:13
And so there'd be less interruption there. The downside to that is it just puts you a little bit further from the lake. It's 01:05:18
still, you know, definitely possible to do. 01:05:21
But yeah, I just want to hear kind of thoughts and opinions on this because we're we're hoping maybe this summer we could do the 01:05:26
the restriping there. 01:05:29
And hopefully kind of redesign that that whole neighborhood. 01:05:34
Yeah, would the benefit of the. 01:05:39
Cycle track on the West side. Be that when you make that. 01:05:42
Turn. 01:05:46
Then you don't have to cross a road to get on the lake. 01:05:50
Trail. 01:05:53
Like right here, yeah, yeah, that's definitely 11 potential is you wouldn't have to, you would not have to interact with that 01:05:54
roundabout at all. You could kind of just avoid that and get onto the trail. 01:05:59
The other benefit would be like in this intersection right here, the cycle track could go straight through the intersection 01:06:04
without having to stop. 01:06:07
Or if we did put it on the east side you are now. 01:06:11
Into the intersection crossing Vineyard Loop Rd. 01:06:14
But you'll see, you know, all along here there's these bulb outs and there's really nothing on the. 01:06:17
The east side. 01:06:22
Yeah, so. 01:06:23
I was gonna say, would it be too crazy to just. 01:06:27
Like cross them over. 01:06:31
In the path of. 01:06:33
The most safest path, so like you would transition from. 01:06:36
What was it? Was it east to West or West to east? Like just trying to guide people in the right? 01:06:42
Way so for the most part people would be on the east side where there's less bulb out right but then in that intersection right 01:06:48
there kind of guide them back to the West side and then. 01:06:54
And then back to the east side. Is that too crazy? I mean, either way, they're still having to like go through the intersection 01:07:00
across traffic. 01:07:03
Right. So if you're riding along the east side and you. 01:07:08
Have to cross right here or here. 01:07:10
Umm, so yeah, I don't know. 01:07:17
I don't, I don't hate the idea of it on the east side just because on the West side we do have the the trail. 01:07:20
There. I mean, I think that's a pretty. 01:07:27
High comfort. 01:07:30
The option there and and really the. 01:07:32
I don't know. Again, I think the use case for this cycle track could be. 01:07:35
You know. 01:07:39
200 LB guys on. 01:07:41
A big bike who are. 01:07:43
Or probably more comfortable writing on. 01:07:45
Kind of the elevation of the road versus kids on bikes that. 01:07:48
Yeah, probably beyond the. Yeah, absolutely. 01:07:53
And again, golf carts, yeah, I mean, definitely golf carts here. 01:07:56
Umm, yeah, I mean, it's definitely safer than putting it in the middle. 01:08:04
Yeah, I think I like. 01:08:09
The East up again. 01:08:11
Or up against the curb more than. 01:08:15
Like the between the parking and the road? 01:08:17
The West Side. 01:08:23
Is pretty nice if you can. 01:08:24
Definitely has some benefits there, especially with the intersection and I will say just due to the layout it might end up even 01:08:27
looking more like. 01:08:31
Let me figure out. 01:08:38
Like that? 01:08:40
That might be how we have to do it just because right now along Vineyard Loop all or along 300 W, all the parking is on that. 01:08:41
West side just because of those bulb outs. 01:08:49
And so if we did that, that would, you know, no longer create that barrier of the parking. You'd have, you know, the cycle track 01:08:52
and then you'd have the lanes of travel. 01:08:57
Yeah, I think that, I think. But in general, I think this whole design would help slow down that road. And I know we have a lot of 01:09:02
speeding problems on that road. 01:09:06
And in total, I think just having the angled parking like that, it's just going to slow people down in the 1st place. Yeah, I 01:09:10
think the only design I didn't like was like the. 01:09:15
The bike between the Yeah, yeah, we'll, we'll just delete that one. 01:09:20
Yeah, cool. 01:09:24
So, yeah, and I'm also open to other ideas as we kind of toy around with this. If there's anything that you guys can think of, 01:09:28
we're happy to. 01:09:32
To see what we can do with. 01:09:36
What we have the goal, though, is to remain in that cryptic curve. We don't want to make any changes to that necessarily. 01:09:38
Paint's pretty cheap compared to messing with curbs. If we did do the. 01:09:44
West Side. 01:09:50
Would it just? 01:09:52
Bulb out with the bulb out. Yeah, yeah, we're actually you can. Well, you can actually see right now like this. I think the power 01:09:54
poles are the. 01:09:57
The biggest example of this, the bike lane, is actually right at the edge of that already. 01:10:02
Right here. 01:10:06
And so, yeah, we'd have to just kind of follow it that way so it would curve, which isn't the end of the world. 01:10:08
But yeah. 01:10:15
I think I think the east side makes more sense. 01:10:19
Personally but. 01:10:23
You want to add anything? 01:10:25
Well, I was just if we're, if we're curving the cycle. 01:10:29
Path around those bulb outs like. 01:10:32
We'd basically have to curve the entire Rd. around like so, it was just it would be a lot more difficult. 01:10:36
Yeah, I don't, I don't think the east side is bad. 01:10:42
Option at all. 01:10:45
One thing that I think is really neat is if this proves to be pretty successful and we are able to continue it all the way down 01:10:46
300. 01:10:50
It would eventually tie into that 400 S that we were talking about earlier and it really create a really great perimeter trail 01:10:53
that would be great, you know, bike, bike route for people to get through the city. 01:10:58
So when it could connect, we're working on. 01:11:05
Hopefully soon working on the Holdaway road bike Blvd. and it would connect right into that so. 01:11:07
Is the. 01:11:13
So is the 300 W. 01:11:14
Future extension. 01:11:16
Is that going to be the end of the 400 S? 01:11:18
Like right here. 01:11:23
Yes, well that yeah, well, 400 S terminate it. 01:11:24
300 W. 01:11:28
Oh yeah. 01:11:30
Great. 01:11:31
Yeah. 01:11:33
That'd be pretty slick. 01:11:34
So that's all that I had. 01:11:37
Awesome. 01:11:43
At how many more parking spots did you say? I mean, we have to do a lot more analysis, but I think we could. 01:11:44
Get up to about 170 on that road going to angled. 01:11:51
So it could be an additional, I don't know, maybe an additional 7080 stalls. 01:11:55
Which is almost double what we have there now, no? 01:12:00
That'd be great. 01:12:04
So. 01:12:05
Cool. Thank you. 01:12:07
Thanks for sharing that. 01:12:08
Yeah. 01:12:10
All right. Any other things to discuss? 01:12:14
I think we've come to the end of the agenda then. 01:12:18
Yeah. 01:12:21
Excuse me, I just wanted to. 01:12:23
Formally share this invitation that came from Sarah Bateman. 01:12:26
From. 01:12:29
UVU they are having a bike to work or anywhere. 01:12:31

In UVU. 01:12:57
RM so. 01:12:59
I'd like to extend that invitation if you have some time. 01:13:01
It starts. 01:13:05
From 8:00 to 9:30 AM. 01:13:06
Pretty short. 01:13:10
They will be providing a space for. 01:13:12
Vineyard and ATC to kind of just hang out and. 01:13:15
Share stuff that we have going in our city. 01:13:19
So it would be nice to have. 01:13:22
One or two of you if you have some time. 01:13:24
Yeah, I'll be able to make that this Thursday, right? Yes, this Thursday I'll be there for the 1st 45 minutes at least. 01:13:28
Would anyone else be available? 01:13:36
You don't have to make a decision now, you can reach out to me later on. 01:13:41
So I just wanted to share that invitation. 01:13:44
That's it, and I'll send an e-mail to that effect so you can see the flyer they have. 01:13:47
Yeah, it's a pretty short 1. 01:13:51
There's not much expected of us to do. 01:13:54
Just presence. 01:13:56
So. 01:13:58
That's all I have. 01:13:59
Thank you. 01:14:01
Awesome. 01:14:03
So we just. 01:14:05
All right, meeting adjourned. 01:14:10
Thanks everyone. 01:14:12
Thank you, Martina. Get you that golf cart logo. 01:14:13
So yeah. 01:14:16
That was revolutionary, yeah. 01:14:21

First item. 00:00:02
A business is. 00:00:05
Presentations, recognitions, awards, and proclamations, Any of that. 00:00:09
No, none of that. OK. 00:00:15
Public comments. 00:00:17
