Feel free to talk. 00:00:32
Yeah, go ahead and testing, testing 1-2, three. 00:00:33
OK, February 19, 2026 I call this. 00:00:40
Meeting to order at 5:35 PM. 00:00:44
Welcome to active transportation meeting. 00:00:48
OK. 00:00:52
First, we'll start off. 00:00:53
With our presentations. 00:00:55
Is that? 00:00:57
Presentation. No presentation, OK. 00:01:01
Nothing. OK. 00:01:05
We'll move on to. 00:01:07
Business items then. 00:01:08
So 5.12026 meeting schedule. 00:01:10
Amendment, discussion and voting. 00:01:14
Oh, is that Tony? 00:01:16
OK. 00:01:18
Should we move to amenities? 00:01:28
Oh no, I think you guys will have a. 00:01:30
Yes, we do. 00:01:32
OK, so. 00:01:39
As far as meeting schedule goes, I know that. 00:01:43
We've kind of had a lot of a lot of movement with City Council moving to Tuesdays. 00:01:47
And so. 00:01:51
We've just been kind of trying to. 00:01:53
Fit everybody in. 00:01:56
Where we can. 00:01:57
So. 00:01:58
I Anthony, help me out. We sat down, we looked over all of the availability that was left. As you can see, the Thursdays at. 00:02:00
5:30 is a little. 00:02:09
A little tricky. I will say that that should be done by April and then it doesn't pick up again until September, so. 00:02:11
If there is no movement on. 00:02:21
Condensing. 00:02:24
Commissions. 00:02:25
Then the current schedule that you have will. 00:02:26
Get a lot easier in April. 00:02:30
OK. 00:02:32
But put together a few here for you. 00:02:33
And so. 00:02:36
What you'll see. 00:02:37
We've got every literally every Monday. 00:02:38
Is available. 00:02:42
We've also got. 00:02:44
The second. 00:02:46
Or first and 2nd Thursdays. 00:02:48
Those ones are. 00:02:51
Also at 5:30. 00:02:54
We're going to run into kind of the same problem. 00:02:56
However. 00:02:59
That would clear up if you wanted to do it at six, if you wanted to move to to 6:00 PM. So that's also an option for both. 00:03:00
The 1st and 2nd Thursday and then the current one there in green. 00:03:07
Is your current. 00:03:12
Meeting schedule. 00:03:14
And so if you wanted to move that to 6. 00:03:15
That would also. 00:03:17
Negate. 00:03:19
The third one will conflict. 00:03:21
Oh, that's right. I'm sorry. My apologies. That's why Brian's looking like no. 00:03:24
Tony not that I'm sorry. The green is your current one, the orange the the 1st and 2nd Thursdays you could move to 6:00. 00:03:28
And that would make it easier because you'll still run into the same. 00:03:36
Thursday issues with science club. 00:03:39
But like I said, if you move to 6:00 then that's not a problem. 00:03:43
The other one, the purple one, is the. 00:03:47
First Tuesdays. 00:03:50
That literally anything. Anything after 2:00 PM. 00:03:53
Room is yours. 00:03:56
There is a City Council meeting on the 1st and 3rd. 00:03:58
Tuesdays, but those are work sessions that are done at. 00:04:01
From like noon to two. 00:04:04
So. 00:04:06
But I also have library board meeting on the. 00:04:08
3rd. 00:04:12
Tuesdays. 00:04:13
So right now I could do the first Tuesday. 00:04:14
Of the month. 00:04:17
5:30. 00:04:19
5:00. 00:04:20
Whatever works. 00:04:21
Not a problem. 00:04:23
OK, Questions, comments, concerns. 00:04:25
I think. 00:04:28
For right now, the second to Thursday sounds really good. 00:04:29
Agreed. 00:04:37
Thursday. 00:04:39
Yes. 00:04:41
I have a. 00:04:43
Contribution to that though. 00:04:43
While we were. 00:04:46
Working on the schedule, we did speak with the library. 00:04:47
Person, Valerie. 00:04:50
And she did say that she could. 00:04:52
Potentially. 00:04:54
Convey the message to them so they're out of here by 5:20. 00:04:55
Right. That's what she said. Yeah, she said like. 00:05:00
By 5:20, you try to do it by 5:20, so they're out of here by 5:20, so we have. 00:05:02
At least 10 minutes to get set up and just start meeting at. 00:05:07
5:30 But. 00:05:11
You know. 00:05:12
As Tony said earlier, if you want to move it to six, it's up to you. 00:05:13
If you want to keep the 5:30. 00:05:16
We just need to let the library know so that they can. 00:05:18
Change the science club. 00:05:21
You know, close Texas and. 00:05:24
Isn't great. 00:05:26
Nobody wants to do 6. 00:05:28
This is on Thursday. 00:05:30
Thursday. 2nd Thursdays. 00:05:32
I'm OK with either of those. I might. 00:05:35
Prefer sex? 00:05:37
6:00 yeah, OK. 00:05:39
So 6:00 on 2nd Thursday, does that work? 00:05:41
Yes. 00:05:46
2nd Thursdays. 00:05:46
So that would be your next one is. 00:05:48
On March. 00:05:51
6:00 PM. 00:05:58
You'd have to go. 00:06:00
I move that we change our meeting schedule to the second. 00:06:03
Thursday at 6:00 PM. 00:06:06
I second that motion. 00:06:07
I will send out. 00:06:14
A clean version of this calendar that only shows the day that you want with the time as well. OK. Thanks, Anthony. You're welcome. 00:06:15
Do we have to say I or something or or? 00:06:22
Aye, aye. 00:06:28
Aye, aye, aye. You'd have to mention their names. 00:06:30
Sorry. 00:06:34
Whatever or your chair can go by by names and just. 00:06:35
Each ask each person by name Hi. 00:06:39
Cameron. 00:06:43
Jordan aye. 00:06:45
Thank you. 00:06:48
Awesome. Umm. 00:06:49
All right then. 00:06:50
So what he's done, Tony? 00:06:52
To let it be written. 00:06:55
I appreciate the flexibility. I know it's. 00:06:57
Been a been a challenge so. 00:07:01
Wonderful, and then hopefully the little kiddos could stick to their schedule. 00:07:04
That was going to be my recommendation for 6:00 anyway. 00:07:10
As much as I can see the movie done in 20. 00:07:14
Children to go hey, let's stick to the schedule. 00:07:17
Yeah. All right. 00:07:21
We'll move to the second item of business, Utah Lake Shoreline Trail amenities. 00:07:24
Thank you so much for. 00:07:32
I really appreciate it. My name is Brian Baudry. I'm the. 00:07:36
Parks and Rec director for Vineyard. 00:07:39
So I recognize some of your faces. I don't know all of you super well, but thank you so much for. 00:07:41
Taking the time to let me meet with you. 00:07:47
Just to give you a brief background on this. 00:07:49
So. 00:07:52
Vineyard City partnered with the Utah Lake Authority. 00:07:54
To apply for Community Parks and Recreation grant last year. 00:07:57
And we were fortunate to get that through. 00:08:03
Utah. 00:08:07
Recreant. 00:08:10
Organization. 00:08:12
And uh. 00:08:14
Essentially, we are approved for a budget of about $36,000. 00:08:15
It's a 5050 match, so the city. 00:08:21
Would need to pay. 00:08:24
18,000 of that. 00:08:25
And so the idea is that we would have. 00:08:27
Benches. 00:08:31
Bike repair stations and bike racks along the Utah Lake Shoreline Trail. 00:08:32
When we were implementing the memorial bench program in Vineyard. 00:08:39
We sent out a survey to just ask where community members want to have benches. 00:08:44
And I'd say probably the most popular answer was the Utah Lake shoreline. 00:08:49
So. 00:08:54
That's to kind of give you a little bit of background on this. 00:08:55
And so from a staff side, we've gone in and. 00:08:58
I guess. 00:09:05
Pick some locations. 00:09:06
For each of these amenities to be placed along the shoreline trail. 00:09:07
And we wanted to bring it to you. 00:09:12
For your. 00:09:14
Any adjustments that you think are necessary? 00:09:17
And then? 00:09:21
With whatever you recommend. 00:09:21
We'll take to City Council next week and. 00:09:23
Ask for their approval to move forward with your record. 00:09:27
So just to give you a rundown on. 00:09:31
A number of things. 00:09:34
Why don't we start out by going over? 00:09:35
The locations and then I'll kind of get more into the budget and what exactly the amenities look like and all of that. 00:09:39
So on this map here it shows various. 00:09:47
Amenities. So for example, we'll just start at the top. 00:09:54
At Vineyard Beach. 00:09:58
I imagine you guys are all familiar with. 00:10:00
Vineyard Beach. 00:10:03
We do not have any benches. 00:10:06
Up along the trail. 00:10:09
And with how many people also use bikes? 00:10:11
In this city. 00:10:15
And I've, I mean, personally seen a lot of bikers on this trail. There seems to be potential great value in having, you know, a. 00:10:17
Bike racks and bike repair station at this location. 00:10:27
And so just to give you kind of a overview. 00:10:31
This is kind of. 00:10:35
Let me pull up the picture. 00:10:37
So this isn't the best drawing ever. 00:10:41
But. 00:10:44
This is essentially about what it would look like of what we're proposing as staff for the Vineyard Beach location. 00:10:45
So in red this would be 8 foot by 15 foot concrete pad. 00:10:51
And then on there we would have 4. 00:10:58
Inverted U. 00:11:01
Bike racks. 00:11:03
That is what we were. 00:11:04
Recommended to do as far as bike racks go. 00:11:07
From Vineyard residents Anthony just verifying with our city code and. 00:11:12
That is basically what we have in code. 00:11:16
What can be approved as? 00:11:19
So there would be those 4. 00:11:22
And then having a bike repair station here. 00:11:24
Essentially like right in the middle of the. 00:11:27
Like length of the. 00:11:30
On the far end. 00:11:33
There would be about 3 feet. 00:11:36
In between each bike rack. 00:11:38
We research to see what the ideal distance is. Mentions a minimum. 00:11:41
Three feet between each of them. And so that's what we're planning to do. 00:11:45
And then this here would be a six foot bench. 00:11:50
So I wanted to ask first what your thoughts are on this layout. 00:11:54
What if you have any concerns? 00:12:00
Or just what your thoughts are on? 00:12:05
For this specific location. 00:12:08
I think. 00:12:15
The initial reaction is that it's. 00:12:20
Looks pretty great. 00:12:22
Love all this stuff. 00:12:23
I would wonder if. 00:12:24
We asked any of the planners with like MAG how utilized their bike repair stations are along like the Murdoch Canal Trail. 00:12:28
I think they're great and I like having them around. 00:12:38
I do know that. 00:12:41
People who ride bikes a lot tend to carry tools with them, and so maybe. 00:12:44
Maybe they're not as utilized, I don't know. I'd just be curious what the utilization rate is there. 00:12:49
I actually don't know. 00:12:54
If it's. 00:12:56
If it's great. 00:12:57
Or not Great. 00:12:57
I don't know. 00:12:59
It does seem like a higher cost item and so that's where it's like if it's. 00:13:00
Very low utilized in other areas of Utah County. Maybe you're better off with. 00:13:03
A few more benches, or even more. 00:13:08
Bike parking or whatever. 00:13:10
Just to specify again, so that's along the Murdoch trail that you were talking about. Yeah, they have some. 00:13:12
Well, so I wonder if MAG has any data about it. 00:13:19
So they have like all the. 00:13:23
Kind of at every. 00:13:25
Parking lot, park along the trail. There's like a. 00:13:26
Kind of the same thing. 00:13:31
Sometimes they have like bathrooms. 00:13:33
Drinking water and the whole deal, and that's great. 00:13:35
But if they had any. 00:13:38
Dia of like how utilized I think their repair stations are. 00:13:39
That might be interesting. 00:13:44
As a member of the community, my family and I. 00:13:47
Go through this trail a lot and I could tell you that spot is very popular for them dumping their bikes and I'm staying after to 00:13:53
watch their bikes while they go down to the beach. So this is really good placement. 00:13:59
OK. 00:14:06
One comment that I'd have. 00:14:08
That maybe isn't really an issue is. 00:14:10
I feel like it'd be better to have the repair station if we do choose to include it. 00:14:14
On one of the ends rather than in the middle. I'm just worried like if. 00:14:18
If you know there's. 00:14:23
One bike. 00:14:24
That's like on the inner part of. 00:14:25
EU on one side and then there's another. Like I'm just wondering if it would feel a little cramped trying to work on your bike and 00:14:27
then you're like surrounded by two other bikes on either side. 00:14:31
That would be, you know. 00:14:36
Particularly unlucky. 00:14:37
But I'm just. 00:14:39
Curious. It would be better to put it on an end rather than the. 00:14:41
It's a great point as well. 00:14:45
Would you prefer it to be on the? 00:14:46
Upper corner or the probably the lower. 00:14:48
This one, although there's a bench here. 00:14:52
Yeah, but. 00:14:54
It seems like there's a decent amount of space between the bench and the. 00:14:55
First you. 00:14:59
So that would be about 3 feet from the edge of the concrete to. 00:15:03
The start of the. 00:15:07
So we could have it, yeah, just like right there on the. 00:15:09
I would probably. 00:15:13
Recommend that we do it. 00:15:14
On a corner that's further from the trail. 00:15:17
Just so that if you have somebody. 00:15:19
Pulling up to. 00:15:21
Pump up their bike or whatever that they're not. 00:15:23
Hanging their bike on the trail. 00:15:26
So I I agree with you having him on one of the corners, but maybe one of the far corner. OK, no, no, I. 00:15:29
I agree. 00:15:35
OK if. 00:15:36
It looks like and maybe it's. 00:15:38
Maybe this isn't. 00:15:40
Perfectly equal, but. 00:15:41
Like if this was spaced down. Like if that one was down here. 00:15:43
These were moved, shifted down. 00:15:47
You could have a little more space for it there or the way that it shifted up here down, that kind of gives you a little more. 00:15:49
So maybe we just lengthen the pad out a little bit longer to accommodate for? 00:15:55
More space for that bike repair station on a corner potentially. 00:16:01
Yeah, I think that's a great idea. 00:16:05
I feel like what he's saying is just shift the. 00:16:08
I don't know if they're exact measurements. 00:16:10
Yeah, yeah, maybe those aren't exact. OK, three feet between each. 00:16:13
Yeah. 00:16:18
And from the edge of the concrete too. 00:16:20
Yeah. And with the bench right here, I wonder if. 00:16:23
It might be better to have it over here. 00:16:27
Just in case. 00:16:30
People are sitting at this bench. 00:16:31
But then you might want to shift. 00:16:33
These down and maybe it maybe it would be automatically. 00:16:35
Maybe these are supposed to be? 00:16:38
OK. So maybe so, yeah, so that upper corner and then maybe if we just add an extra foot or a few of concrete. So instead of it 00:16:43
being like an 8 by 15 foot pad, we do like an 8 by 16 or 8 by 17. 00:16:49
Would that be OK? I just know that based off the. 00:16:56
36912. 00:16:58
Oh, so this will be. This is equally spaced because it's a 15. 00:17:01
Yeah, I think I, I think I'd say put it over on that corner. 00:17:04
There's probably enough space. Thank you. 00:17:10
Sorry, will you say that one more time? Yeah. So actually this is supposed to be equally spaced, so I think it's just fine. 00:17:15
But I think I'd probably put it at this corner just so that it's not by. 00:17:21
Where people might be on the bench. Yeah, yeah. 00:17:25
Even though. 00:17:28
It would be kind of nice to give them their own space over here. I don't know if you want to. 00:17:29
Put the bench but then it's closer to the trash can. 00:17:34
That's the trash can. Yeah, I think so. 00:17:38
In case it smells or actually I think it's a sign right there and then On the opposite side of the sidewalk is a dog station I 00:17:41
believe. 00:17:45
OK, sorry. So say that one more time. So the corner, should we add a few extra feet of concrete? 00:17:51
Yeah, I. 00:17:57
I've also I'm also a little skeptical depending on how much cost it would add to like. 00:17:59
Yeah, yeah, we don't feel like. 00:18:04
Costs of adding more concrete, I think I would just. 00:18:06
Put it. 00:18:09
Right up in that corner. OK. Yeah, the north. 00:18:10
That sounds great. 00:18:15
And then you could maybe even put the 1st. 00:18:16
I feel like putting it. 00:18:20
Fairly close to the bench wouldn't be that big of an issue. 00:18:22
Like if it wasn't. 00:18:27
If they weren't exactly spaced evenly throughout, but the entire thing was shifted a little slightly closer to the bench part. 00:18:28
You do 4 feet here then Yeah, exactly. Exactly. 00:18:35
Yes, I see. That's exactly what I'm saying. 00:18:40
OK. Thank you. 00:18:48
Can I make a comment please? Yes. 00:18:49
I would want to remind you that a lot more people are. 00:18:52
Leaning towards buying electric bikes and those have fat ties and all that so you want to take that into consideration. 00:18:55
OK, you know. 00:19:01
Not everyone would be on a. 00:19:03
Road bike. 00:19:06
That would fit within 2 feet. 00:19:07
These electric bikes have. 00:19:09
Pretty big tires, yeah. 00:19:13
We would probably cargos and stuff like between. 00:19:14
The smaller pad where the bench is, so there will be like a foot gap there. So I guess essentially there would be. 00:19:17
Three feet if you only had two feet there. 00:19:23
Does that make sense what I'm saying? 00:19:25
So 2 feet at the. 00:19:27
Below the. 00:19:29
The right here. 00:19:30
Yeah. 00:19:32
So if we moved it all down a foot. 00:19:32
You'd have two feet left on the pad up top, but you'd have one foot. 00:19:35
Between the bench. 00:19:39
Oh, yeah, and the edge of the new path. So that would still be 3 feet. So I think that that actually makes sense. OK. 00:19:42
Which I like that because then. 00:19:48
With four feet up here, it's almost like there's a foot space just for the. 00:19:50
Yeah, Anna. 00:19:57
Another thing I've seen on Maddock. 00:19:59
Trail is. 00:20:01
Some some of the repair stations. 00:20:03
Are not in a. 00:20:05
They like they put the bench on the. 00:20:07
But they have the repair station like. 00:20:09
You know, concreted in, you know. 00:20:12
Inside the dirt somewhere because. 00:20:14
It has a thing where you hang the bike on. 00:20:16
And work on it while you stand. 00:20:19
So you really don't need. 00:20:21
To be sitting. 00:20:23
Or have it you know. 00:20:24
On a pad. 00:20:26
Literally. 00:20:27
So it's just you dig something and. 00:20:28
The construction guys would know you just. 00:20:31
Pour some concrete to get a footing in there. 00:20:33
And have it. 00:20:36
You know, be installed. 00:20:37
And it doesn't have need a pad. 00:20:39
It just has to be close enough to the bench. 00:20:40
So that if. 00:20:43
Someone is. 00:20:44
You know, working on their thing and get tired. You can just sit down and you need one of those like bike arms. 00:20:45
To like set the bike? Yeah, it usually comes with it. 00:20:50
So, yeah, and maybe just one thought on that too. So the parks team recommends that we go with. 00:20:54
An option that actually is a mount. 00:21:00
On top of the concrete instead of in just because they've had to fix a bike repair station at at. 00:21:03
Sunset Beach Park and they had to pull out. 00:21:11
They had to dig out the whole thing. 00:21:14
To be able to replace the piece and so that's where. 00:21:16
They actually are leaning towards the more of the mount on top of the concrete. 00:21:19
And so that would be their preference from a maintenance. 00:21:23
Side in case that were to break. 00:21:25
So that's a good idea to consider. 00:21:28
So yeah. 00:21:32
OK. Am I good to move on to the next one? Yeah. 00:21:33
OK, so. 00:21:36
5 minutes before the next meeting, yeah. 00:21:39
We'll try and. 00:21:42
We can do no pressure. 00:21:43
Yeah. OK. So let's go to the Center St. location. 00:21:45
I'm going to pull up another picture here. 00:21:48
Also not the best sketch, but. And while he pulls things up, you know you're free to just. 00:21:52
Tell him to add more benches in seven spots and just move you know things around if you. 00:21:57
Think maybe the Vineyard beach needs more edges. 00:22:02
Other than just one. 00:22:06
You know, yeah. 00:22:07
OK, so at. 00:22:09
The Center St. intersection, there's a. 00:22:11
A lot of just vacant space on each side of the two benches that are already there. 00:22:14
So we were thinking we could fit three of the inverted U. 00:22:18
Bike racks on each side of those. 00:22:23
And then? 00:22:26
On one side we were thinking the lower side, having a bike repair station there as well. 00:22:28
Open to your thoughts on that. 00:22:34
Nice, I like that. 00:22:37
I feel like I would like to add more benches to this location. 00:22:38
Obviously, we'd probably need to. 00:22:43
Take them from other places or move some things around but. 00:22:45
When I've been there. 00:22:49
I feel like. 00:22:52
There's not. Yes, they're always full. 00:22:53
And it just, it just really would be utilized. 00:22:56
Yes, it would be. 00:23:00
I honestly feel like. 00:23:03
Maybe just the one set of those 3? 00:23:05
Bike racks would be enough. 00:23:08
Yeah, OK. 00:23:11
Yeah. So are you thinking have a bench? 00:23:13
Take one side so we have 3 benches and then we have on the other side would be. 00:23:17
3 bike racks with a bike repair station. That sounds like what he's saying, yes. 00:23:21
If just throwing this out here if the bike racks are on these. 00:23:27
Here. 00:23:32
Still right in this area. That's true. It's like that was almost built for a bike rack right there. Yes, I actually agree with 00:23:37
that more. 00:23:40
I think. I think. 00:23:43
4 benches would be totally justified. 00:23:44
In total 4 ventures. 00:23:48
OK, so with that. 00:23:51
I have a couple thoughts on that and I can run this by the parks team as well. 00:23:53
So the parks team wanted to avoid. 00:23:56
Putting anything on this? 00:23:59
Section here. 00:24:01
Because there's sometimes where they have to. 00:24:02
Drive their vehicle onto the trail for doing maintenance along the trail with the trees and stuff. 00:24:04
That was their one concern, so. 00:24:10
I can pose that. 00:24:13
My other question with that would be if we did two other benches here. 00:24:15
Would you want? 00:24:19
Us to remove these two and replace them with two additional ones. So essentially we would have 4 new benches here. 00:24:21
I don't know why you need to replace the old ones. 00:24:27
Is it just aesthetic? I guess just so that it matches is what I am specifically referring to. And then those two could be put 00:24:30
somewhere where they're the only two maybe potentially and they match. 00:24:35
Yeah, in their location, yeah. 00:24:41
I see. 00:24:44
If we put 2 benches. 00:24:46
Up by the Vineyard beach. 00:24:48
You take those two benches, put them up there. 00:24:51
Because that is all another prime location for viewing and then we're only. 00:24:54
Adding one more bench to your. 00:24:58
What are you so far? 00:25:00
4 new ones here and these two get. 00:25:02
Move to the Vineyard Beach location. 00:25:06
So let me let me show you one thing before I answer that. 00:25:09
So essentially with our budget. 00:25:16
With everything that we have. 00:25:20
That we're recommending as staff. 00:25:24
Comes to a total of just under 31,000 and we've been approved for 38, so we do have. 00:25:27
Added funding to do things. So I guess my question would be if we move those two benches up there. 00:25:33
Would we not put a new bench there? 00:25:39
Does that make sense what I'm saying? 00:25:43
If those benches are in good repair and look good. 00:25:45
Well, we have other locations for benches I think coming up so. 00:25:51
I think we'd want the Vineyard beach to look as nice as. 00:25:55
That should probably have the nicest, nicer ones. 00:25:59
But if we could recycle those two benches. 00:26:03
Of course, that'll still cost, that'll still go into labor cost to move, right? 00:26:05
So there's still a cost with. 00:26:10
Moving them. 00:26:12
But if? 00:26:13
There's spots that we could still use them, that would be great. 00:26:15
OK. OK. So just going back to that then. 00:26:18
So is the. 00:26:22
Let's see. 00:26:24
Close it maybe? 00:26:25
So you would prefer to have the four new benches? 00:26:29
And then have the three bike. 00:26:33
Racks on each end? Is that kind of what I'm hearing? 00:26:36
I guess. 00:26:41
I haven't gone by enough to really know for sure. 00:26:42
Do you guys think we need? 00:26:45
6 racks, 2 sets of three, or just one set of three or. 00:26:46
If we're looking. 00:26:52
I think the one would the ones that would suffice because we still also want to use that. 00:26:54
Space for the. 00:27:02
Vehicles, right? 00:27:04
So we could do. 00:27:06
We can just take up this one side and then still leave that other side open for the vehicle, the work vehicle, OK, So if we just 00:27:08
did these three. 00:27:12
Racks here. 00:27:16
The bike repair station. 00:27:17
Move it further down, Yeah. Can we move it over a bit so we could accommodate 4? 00:27:20
4 benches, yeah, another bench there and there and then. Could this bike stuff be put like. 00:27:24
Oh, I see in the repair station there. 00:27:30
Yes, my only concern with that would be. 00:27:33
With parking being right there, we just would want to make sure there's enough of a barrier so that if someone's. 00:27:36
Locking up their bike? It's not going to. 00:27:42
Be hanging onto the. 00:27:44
Parking stall, Yeah, so as long as they. 00:27:46
So really anywhere in that area you'd say is that the? 00:27:48
The bike racks there and then put the. 00:27:51
This station OK. 00:27:56
That's good. 00:27:59
Yeah, you guys like that, Okay. 00:28:00
So still try and get 4 benches. 00:28:04
Recycle the two existing. 00:28:06
Put in four new benches, yes. OK. 00:28:08
And then we're adding another bench to the Sunset Beach. 00:28:11
Say that again. 00:28:16
So Sunset Beach will have two benches instead of just the one. 00:28:17
Because we feel that is also another prime location for viewing at Sunset Beach. Do we have this space for that with on the 00:28:21
concrete slab though? 00:28:26
They could just. 00:28:31
Oh yeah, OK. 00:28:33
Wait, do you mean Vineyard beach or Sunset Beach? Vineyard Vineyard. Vineyard beach? So you want two benches up at Vineyard beach? 00:28:35
OK, sorry, hold on. Just a second. Two mentions. 00:28:47
Yeah, that is a really popular area. 00:28:51
OK, like Sunday afternoons, Saturday. 00:28:54
So that would mean we would need to buy. 00:28:58
Five additional benches. 00:29:01
So we would need. 00:29:03
I don't know if we would have. 00:29:05
Total sufficient budget for that, but I can. 00:29:06
I can look into that. 00:29:09
Right. 00:29:11
There's also that option of recycling these two to the Vineyard beach, OK. 00:29:13
OK. 00:29:19
See, I don't think that adds up to 5. 00:29:21
So far we've added. 00:29:25
Three. Yeah, it's just where do we? 00:29:27
If there's a place where we can reuse those two to save us. 00:29:31
Some money, some money, then we've only yeah. 00:29:36
Got 11 bench is. 00:29:38
So yeah, maybe let me go over this really quick, so. 00:29:42
Essentially from Vineyard Beach. 00:29:46
All the way until like the end of that trail going South. 00:29:48
We have placed a bench about every quarter mile. 00:29:53
And that would leave space for seven benches. 00:29:57
Get so that's that's our. 00:30:00
Recommendation and then. 00:30:02
10 bike racks, so that would be 4 at Vineyard beach. 00:30:04
And then I guess. 00:30:08
I guess we reduced it to three, yes, at Center Street. So that'll give us added budget there. 00:30:09
The two bike stations, one at Vineyard Beach, one at. 00:30:15
Center St. 00:30:19
So that should all make sense. 00:30:20
This is the cost for Rd. based concrete materials. 00:30:22
Cost of Labor. 00:30:26
For the concrete and the cost of Labor for installation. 00:30:28
So let me. 00:30:32
Let me go over a few other things. 00:30:36
This is. 00:30:38
Kind of the idea for the bike repair station, we were thinking, so it's a two in one. It's a bike repair station but also has a 00:30:40
bike pump. 00:30:43
That's hatched with it. 00:30:47
The pumps the most important, yeah. And so that would. 00:30:50
Be our recommendation for the bike repair station. 00:30:55
Let me pull up. 00:30:58
The bike racks would look somewhat like this. 00:31:00
And then the benches. 00:31:07
Would be. 00:31:12
One of these two. 00:31:14
Don't know what your thoughts are on that. 00:31:17
Are these classifieds maybe just cheaper than the standard bench that we have around? 00:31:19
So let me show you. 00:31:25
The the here's some research that I did into various benches, bike racks. 00:31:29
Bike repair stations. 00:31:34
So I have highlighted in yellow the one that we recommend. 00:31:36
So the bench that I just showed you. 00:31:39
That's a pretty popular bench across like the county so. 00:31:42
They have them in like. 00:31:46
Springville, American Fork, Lehigh It seems to kind of be like a city. 00:31:48
What a lot of cities do, which we don't have to do that. 00:31:53
But the nice thing about that one is that we can also put a logo on it. 00:31:57
And we could put Vineyard on it. 00:32:01
As well. 00:32:03
The other options. 00:32:05
This one is super cheap but it's just like. 00:32:06
Just a flat bench, there's no back to it. 00:32:10
This one is more expensive. 00:32:15
This one is much cheaper. This is the same bench that we have at like Grove Park for the Memorial Bench program. 00:32:19
But uh. 00:32:27
We can't do. 00:32:28
I don't think we can do logos or like Vineyard on that. 00:32:30
OK. And so? 00:32:33
That's kind of why we went. 00:32:36
With. 00:32:37
That's why I recommend it. My only comment is that the benches that we have at. 00:32:40
Sunset Beach Park. 00:32:44
Around the Sandy. 00:32:46
Play area are like the most comfortable public. 00:32:48
Bench that I've ever sat on so highly recommend those. But I mean. 00:32:51
OK, logo is called too. 00:32:56
OK, sure. 00:32:58
Will be comfortable. 00:33:00
What are your guys's thoughts? 00:33:02
I guess I like having the logo if that's an option. Just. 00:33:07
Have some of our city pride as long, hopefully. 00:33:11
We want it to be functional and comfortable. 00:33:15
Right. We don't want people to stay too long, though. Yeah, that's true. 00:33:17
We're not obsessed. 00:33:23
Do you want me to do research into that? And if it's comparable price and we can do a logo, then we'll go with that on. Yeah, I 00:33:28
like that it can't do. 00:33:31
A logo with it or it's. 00:33:36
Much expensive. More expensive than this? Then we'll go with this option. Yep, Yep. 00:33:37
Is that a good way to go? 00:33:41
I just had a thought I want to share with the pictures you. 00:33:44
Head on for the benches. I don't know if you can show that, yeah. 00:33:47
Just a few things to think about in the summer. 00:33:52
The one with. 00:33:54
The you know. 00:33:55
The the vents in it. 00:33:57
Would keep your back. 00:33:59
Not as hot and. 00:34:01
Even if it. 00:34:02
Snows in the winter. It just falls through. 00:34:03
The one with the. 00:34:07
Good luck sitting on that in the summer. So just. 00:34:09
Few things to think about, you know. 00:34:13
While you make. 00:34:15
Choices. So if we were to go with one of these options, would you guys prefer the top one? 00:34:16
Yeah, I think so, yes. 00:34:21
OK. And then other than that? 00:34:25
Let's just go back to the map really quick and this will be the last thing. 00:34:40
OK, so. 00:34:48
So bench #1. 00:34:50
At Vineyard Beach. 00:34:51
You guys recommend we do 2? 00:34:53
Yeah, that'd be great. 00:34:55
OK, bench #2. 00:34:57
That's kind of a picture that shows like. 00:34:59
What the area looks like just overlooking the lake. So it would be. 00:35:01
Down here. So again, it's about a quarter mile South of Vineyard Beach. 00:35:05
About 1/4 mile South of that is this location. 00:35:11
So it's. 00:35:15
Basically in between some of the housing condos at the lakeside. 00:35:16
Area. 00:35:22
Bench for another quarter mile South. This is like right where the trail. 00:35:23
So coming up from Sunset Beach Park, it intersects the other one. Just having it right here. 00:35:29
Yeah. 00:35:33
Um. 00:35:35
The fifth one. 00:35:38
Would be at Sunset Beach Park and this would face the park. 00:35:40
It would just kind of be tucked in this. 00:35:44
This open area here. 00:35:47
Number six would be another. 00:35:53
About quarter mile down. 00:35:55
And this is. 00:35:57
Already in a shaded location. 00:35:59
For the trees. 00:36:01
And so that. 00:36:02
That's a nice perk there. Overlooks the lake. 00:36:03
And then the last one. 00:36:07
Is just South of 170 S. 00:36:09
So there's that detention basin right here. 00:36:13
And then just a little bit South. 00:36:16
Back in this area overlooking the lake. 00:36:18
Do you have any concerns or questions on any of those locations? 00:36:21
I think they're well placed. 00:36:28
OK, Yeah. 00:36:30
And then as far as colors, the Arch Commission recommended that we do. 00:36:31
Black everything, so black benches, black bike repair stations and. 00:36:36
Black bike rack. 00:36:41
Are you guys in support of that or do you have any? 00:36:43
And contrary. 00:36:47
Unless you want to bring attention to it. 00:36:49
I can't remember what our. 00:36:55
Vineyard colors are. 00:36:56
Blue moon gold or something? Yeah, Blue yellow. Yeah, right here. 00:36:57
I mean, Gray's nice. 00:37:03
Blues Nice. 00:37:04
Yellow if you really want people to know what it is. 00:37:06
But I don't see anything wrong with black. 00:37:11
But unless, unless there's some reason to, I guess I'd be curious to. 00:37:13
What kind? I assume blacks. Probably the cheapest color to do things in. 00:37:17
But like. 00:37:21
We're doing it in a different color. 00:37:22
Add in a cost consideration. 00:37:24
I don't think it would increase the cost based off of. 00:37:27
OK, I think it will be nice to not detract much from the nature. 00:37:29
I think I agree. 00:37:35
I I I wouldn't mind the grey. 00:37:36
Like he was saying as well, great. 00:37:38
Yeah. 00:37:40
But yeah. 00:37:42
Black is great. 00:37:44
If charcoal Gray is an option, then vineyard Gray. 00:37:45
Vineyard. 00:37:50
That's right. OK. 00:37:52
That is the proper. Do you want me to propose? 00:37:53
Do you want me to propose like a charcoal grade to council? 00:37:57
Sure, instead of the block that. 00:38:01
I'll just mention both, I'll say Arts Commission, said Black. 00:38:03
ATC recommends. 00:38:06
And we'll let, well, that city let us do get out. Does that sound good? Yeah, that's great for Gray. Do you want that just for the 00:38:08
benches or do you want that also for the bike repair station? And. 00:38:13
Bike racks. Bike racks you can do steel. 00:38:18
Galvanized steel or you can do black. 00:38:21
I think black is fine. 00:38:25
Yeah, we agree with the Arch Commission on that. 00:38:29
I guess. OK, so black whatever is going to hold the power station and bike racks. 00:38:33
Charcoal Gray for the benches. 00:38:37
Yeah, got it. 00:38:40
OK. And then just to review so. 00:38:40
4 new benches at Center St. 00:38:43
Right. And at a second bench. 00:38:46
To Vineyard Beach, Yes, the two benches that are at Center St. 00:38:48
Recycle those. 00:38:52
Yeah, Hopefully we could use that in maybe some of these some other locations. 00:38:54
OK, umm. 00:38:58
So maybe if we're over budget with adding those additional benches, we just put those two. 00:39:00
On some of these, some of these two of these spots or something, OK. 00:39:05
OK, well, I think. 00:39:10
Yeah, if we can just do a motion with. 00:39:12
Just what all you've. 00:39:16
As like staff recommends with the. 00:39:17
Recommended. 00:39:21
Changes however you want to word that, I guess, but that's everything. 00:39:22
So we have a sample motion in the staff report. 00:39:27
You can tweak it as much as you want. 00:39:31
In the back. 00:39:33
Oh so. 00:39:36
OK, I'll give it a shot. Here. Ready. Here we go. 00:39:39
I move to approve. 00:39:43
And recommend approval. 00:39:50
By City Council to install Utah Lake Shoreline Trail amenities. 00:39:51
As discussed with the. 00:39:56
Changes that we. 00:40:00
Recommended by the ATC. 00:40:01
I second that motion. 00:40:04
And then just all one kid. 00:40:08
All in favor, say. 00:40:10
Aye, aye. 00:40:12
Thank you all so much. Thank you, Ryan. 00:40:17
I'm so excited. It's gonna be so great. 00:40:20
Like the citizens are going to get to use it right away. 00:40:24
Do we need a? 00:40:31
Do you want to bring in? 00:40:36
OK. 00:40:46
What do you think, Neil? 00:40:47
OK. 00:40:51
That's perfect. 00:41:01
All right then let's wrap up we'll. 00:41:04
And this meeting at 6:15. 00:41:07
Thank you all. 00:41:10
Thank you. 00:41:11

Yes, we do. 00:01:32
OK, so.
Thank you. 00:41:11
